Decanter

The decisive factor here is a removal process in which neither floating sludge nor sedimented sludge is collected. The decanting system must also work particularly reliably, as it is one of the most important components of an SBR sewage treatment plant.

BSK decanter clear water extraction

In contrast to secondary settling tanks in biological sewage treatment plants, the treated wastewater in damming reactors (SBR) cannot be discharged via the usual drainage channel due to the nature of the process. Since volume must be created again in the SB reactor for the wastewater to be discharged, a discharge device for clear water is required, which follows the falling water level.

The decisive factor here is a removal process in which neither floating sludge nor sedimented sludge is collected. The decanting system must also work particularly reliably, as it is one of the most important components of an SBR sewage treatment plant.

The main objective of our development was to create a clear water extraction device that avoids the known disadvantages of many systems. The fact that we have succeeded in doing this is demonstrated by the more than three hundred BSK® decanters that are in use worldwide and have convinced both planners and users with the following properties:

  • Made entirely of stainless steel
  • Maintenance-free, corrosion-resistant components
  • Limitation to only one robust and easily accessible drive
  • No entry of floating mud possible
  • No stirring up of sedimented mud
  • Variable hydraulic discharge
